Congratulations Roo!

LWS

Coach Zambelli

So the last few months have been pretty exciting for my sister Larisa!

Roo started her first season as an assistant coach for La Salle University. Roo just finished up one AMAZING season as a goal keeper for La Salle, receiving recognition as the Most Outstanding Player of the league & winning the A10 Championship…now she gets to coach! I am SO happy for her and looking forward to this new chapter of her life. She did such an amazing job leading her team through such a successful championship, as captain, I have no doubt she will be an amazing coach.

Once she finishes up this season at La Salle the plan is for her to move back to NY and become a mortgage consultant with mom and I. I can hardly contain myself! lol

Standout La Salle women's soccer player, Larisa Zambelli enters her first season as an assistant coach for the women's soccer program in 2018.

Zambelli capped her collegiate career with an outstanding senior season in 2017, being named the Atlantic 10 Championship's Most Outstanding Player as she led the Explorers to the league title with her stellar goalkeeping.

In the semifinal match against Duquesne, her penalty kick save in the 63rd minute helped propel La Salle to a thrilling overtime win. Two days later, she matched an A-10 Tournament single-game record with 14 saves as the Explorers earned the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.

For the season, she recorded 17 wins to match La Salle's single-season record originally set by Gabby Pakhtigian in 2012. She also tallied 11 shutouts and a 0.74 goals-against average which stand as the second and third-best single-season performances in La Salle women's soccer history.

A two-time graduate ('17 and '18) of the University, Zambelli holds her bachelor's in business administration and MBA in finance.
